Construction News Specialists Awards 2026 – Caxton Group reaches the finals in four categories

Here at Caxton Group, we’re proud to announce that we’ve been named finalists in four categories at the prestigious Construction News Specialists Awards 2026.
The nominations recognise excellence across our specialist businesses and highlight the outstanding people, projects, and training initiatives that continue to drive the group forward.
Award nominations
Our shortlisted categories are:
- Project of the Year – Threadworks – Caxton Façades
- Project of the Year – Bendigo Building – Caxton Builders
- Training Excellence – Caxton Group
- Apprentice of the Year – Brandon Bates
Project of the Year – Caxton Facades – Threadworks

The recognition for Threadworks celebrates Caxton Façades’ delivery of a landmark aluminium façade package on the 24-storey PBSA development in Leeds city centre. Delivered in partnership with Winvic Construction and designed by DMWR Architects, the project marked a major milestone for the business as its largest aluminium cladding scheme of this complexity and scale.
The façade package included approximately 9,000m² of aluminium rainscreen cladding, alongside castellated panels, cranked feature panels, soffits, cills and plant screen louvres.
Project of the Year – Caxton Builders – Bendigo Building

Caxton Builders’ Bendigo Building nomination recognises the successful transformation of a former Royal Mail sorting office in Nottingham into a striking 13-storey student accommodation development. Delivered alongside main contractor GRAHAM, the technically demanding brickwork package included almost 500,000 bricks laid across multiple elevations and a range of complex façade detailing.
The project demonstrated exceptional collaboration, technical expertise and planning, particularly on a constrained city-centre site where materials were managed through a just-in-time delivery strategy.
Apprentice of the Year – Brandon Bates

The Apprentice of the Year nomination celebrates the achievements of Brandon Bates, who began his journey into construction inspired by family members already working in the industry. Since joining Caxton Academy, Brandon has worked across several major projects while developing his skills in structural and feature brickwork through hands-on site experience and training delivered through Caxton Academy.
Brandon’s dedication, work ethic and determination to continuously improve have earned praise from both colleagues and tutors, with his growth reflecting Caxton Group’s wider commitment to investing in the next generation of construction professionals.
Training Excellence – Caxton Group

Training Excellence nomination reflects the investment across the whole group – from our Birmingham based training academy, to our investment in further developing our management teams, senior leaders, through too our site teams and apprentices. Being recognised across both project delivery and people development reflects Caxton Group’s continued focus on quality, collaboration, and long-term investment in the future of the construction industry.
A proud moment for the group
Scott Millington, Group Operations & Sales Director, said:
“These nominations are a testament to the talent, commitment, and hard work shown across every part of our business. We are honoured to be recognised and incredibly proud of our investment in training and the future generation of our industry, and the people who continue to deliver exceptional results for our valued clients.”
We look forward to celebrating alongside industry peers at the awards ceremony in September.
