CAXTON FAÇADES SITE SUPERVISOR / TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR

When did you join the business? 

I joined Caxton Façades in April 2023, from my former role as a joiner and supervisor.

Tell us about your role within the business?

My role at Caxton Façades ensures the smooth operation of all operatives installing our system on a site-by-site basis. This includes answering any queries they may have regarding the installation of specific elements during the construction phase and setting out elevations prior to the commencement of work. I confirm the work is of a consistently high standard and organise the site so that a smooth workflow is present throughout the life of a project. This promotes high standards of performance across the site.

My duties also extend to bolstering the efforts of site managers by stepping in to help when needed, with ordering deliveries, consolidating inventory to make navigating the location of materials easier, quality assessing work and helping to break down dates and deadlines into achievable, productivity based targets that can be implemented across site.

How many people / departments do you manage?

I supervise any operative that requires assistance on a site-by-site basis.

Where are you based?

I currently work between sites based in Birmingham and London.

 How would you describe the culture within the business?

Across the board, no matter the location or size of the site, the ethos of Caxton Façades is the same. Caxton Façades strives to promote inclusivity and maintains a safe, efficient and happy place to work for everyone on site, be it management or operatives no matter the seniority or position.

What would you say is the main advantages to working for Caxton Group?

For me the access to years of knowledge from everyone within the company really helps with my personal development goals.  The approachability and freedom everyone within the company grants you to express thoughts and opinions on specific issues is very encouraging. Due to the rapid expansion of a relatively new system, every day poses new and interesting schools of thought that are welcomed with open arms and are tackled as a team, something which I hold in very high regard.

How would you describe the career progression / opportunities within the business?

Due to the rapid growth of Caxton Façades, career development and progression became very apparent to me right from the start. The ethos of the company promotes hard work and dedication in all the right ways, as the company grows you grow with it. Not only in terms of career prospects and progression but also in developing one’s own core knowledge and understanding of the system and personal skill set, making you feel valued as an individual.

How would you describe the training and development at Caxton Group?

Training and development is not only provided within the company but it is also promoted, it is considered essential to the company and also to the individual to have a diverse range of training and skill sets across all areas of the company.

How would you describe the benefits to working at Caxton Group?

Caxton Façades prides itself on being accommodating to all. The hours are very reasonable for the construction industry, in turn this promotes a healthy work / life balance. There is also the added bonus of a profit-sharing scheme based upon the success of internalised productivity goals which benefit the individual when the company meets its annual targets.
