Alistair commented, “I am delighted to receive this award, it is fantastic to receive recognition for my hard work and commitment. I would like to thank my manager and colleagues at Caxton Builders, particularly Ivan Sharpe for his ongoing support”.
A passion for bricklaying
Alistair’s passion for construction was sparked when he helped his father build a single-story extension. This experience led him to pursue an apprenticeship in bricklaying. Alistair commented, “It was during this time that I realised bricklaying was the trade for me. It’s rewarding to see buildings taking shape. I have high aspirations to work up to my goals of becoming the best bricklayer I can be. I aim to do this by working my way up to a site managment role when I feel I have enough experience to do so”.
A strong work ethic, coupled with a thirst for knowledge
Ivan Sharpe, Construction Manager and Apprenticeship Programme Manager works closely with Alistair and has seen his continual progression. Ivan commented, “We would like to say a huge congratulations to Alistair on his triumph. This award is a testament to his hard work, dedication and the fact he is such a nice person. He has a great thirst to learn, showing enthusiasm and passion for his job role. We have no doubt Alistair will succeed at Caxton Builders and we look forward to seeing him develop further”.
