Course description

This bricklaying apprenticeship course has been designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in bricklaying. You’ll combine hands-on experience with classroom learning to ensure you are well-prepared for a successful career in construction.

Course content 

The course curriculum is structured into three distinct areas:

Knowledge

Covering essential topics such as health and safety protocols, customer service practices, communication skills, building techniques, energy efficiency principles, materials science, and alternative construction methods.

Skills

Focusing on practical abilities such as preparing materials safely, working with masonry structures, and mastering advanced techniques like radial and battered brickwork and feature construction.

Behaviours

Our bricklaying apprenticeship will help you to developing a positive attitude, focusing on quality assurance, effective communication, and self-motivated learning.

Throughout the bricklaying apprenticeship course, these areas will cross-over, ensuring  you have a comprehensive understanding and practical application of all key skills and behaviours essential to succeed in the field.

Entry requirements

  • Bricklaying apprentices must be at least 16 years old
  • Level 2 Maths and English Functional Skills preferable – or you can gain help with achieving this level
  • A keen interest in construction and practical work
  • Must be willing and prepared to travel for exciting work and development opportunities
