Caxton builders managing director

When did you join the business? 

I joined Caxton Builders in January 2009.

What role(s) do you have / have had within the business? 

Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Operations Director, Construction Director and now I am Managing Director of Caxton Builders. 

How many people / departments do you now manage? 

I manage Caxton Builders Midlands Ltd. which is the brickwork side of Caxton Group. Currently in my team I have a construction manager, contracts manager, estimator, two quantity surveyors, two project managers, ten site managers and upwards of 150 bricklayers, labourers, fitters and drivers. 

Where are you based? 

I am based from our offices in Derby.  

How would you describe the culture within the business? 

Work hard, play hard. Plus everyone is equally as important within the business no matter what level you are at. 

What would you say at the main advantages to working for Caxton Group?

Take me for example, started as a site manager 12 years ago and now I am Managing Director, the growth opportunities are there for everyone and we actively encourage it. 

How would you describe the career progression / opportunities within the business? 

Caxton Group is one of the fastest growing companies in our industry, certainly in the Midlands and surrounding areas and the career opportunities are endless. If you reach for the top you will eventually get there and be rewarded for your hard work.

Whatever training you require Caxton will support you 100%.
