Caxton Academy apprentices visit Four Ashes – Mortar, Screed & Concrete plant

Caxton Academy apprentices had an exciting opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the real world of construction at the Four Ashes Mortar, Concrete & Screed plant. Hosted by Anthony Padfield, General Manager of The Mortar And Screed Company Ltd, the visit was designed to provide a closer look at the production of ready-to-use mortars and to offer invaluable insights into the skills and expertise required in the construction industry.

An exclusive tour for future construction professionals

The exclusive tour brought together apprentices, led by Ivan Sharpe, Caxton Group’s Apprenticeship Development Manager, and industry experts. This hands-on experience allowed apprentices to witness the inner workings of a state-of-the-art facility, from the raw materials to the final product. It also demonstrated how theoretical knowledge translates into practical application – a vital step in their journey toward becoming skilled construction professionals.
