Caxton Group support The Trussell Trust during cost of living crisis
The teams at Caxton Group donated £1500 worth of food and essential items to The Trussell Trust this week. A huge thanks to Ian Black and his family for making this happen. A huge thank you to many of our suppliers who helped us to make this happen. We would like to thank Travis Perkins PLC, MKM Building Supplies, Elite Fasteners, ACC-IT, Fixings Plus, Plant hire UK, Speedy Hire and Heatons Group.
The Trussell Trust support a nationwide network of food banks providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
14% of all UK adults (or their households) have experienced food insecurity in the 12 months to mid-2022, equating to an estimated 11.3 million people. This means that – at some point over this period – they have run out of food and been unable to afford more, and/or reduced meal size, eaten less, gone hungry or lost weight due to lack of money.
Ian Black, Caxton Group Buyer commented, “The food bank collection was delivered to The Trussell Trust this week and was truly welcomed. They said it was the largest single donation they had received in a long time. It has made a real difference when demand is at its highest. The biggest demand is from working families struggling with the cost of living crisis. I want to thank everyone at Caxton for your help in making this possible. Your donation has helped make dozens of families have a brighter Christmas”.
