Insights from Dan Tutcher, Group Commercial Director: growth plans for 2025

Recently promoted to Group Commercial Director, Dan tells us about his new role and the growth plans across the Group for 2025.

How has your new role evolved?

“My role is shifting to become more strategic. I’ll be less involved in the finer details of individual projects and focus more on strategic planning, contract reviews, business development, commercial reporting, and risk management. This broader perspective allows me to ensure we’re capturing new opportunities while managing risks effectively.

How did Caxton perform in 2024, and what’s the focus for 2025?

2024 was a strong year for the Group, with significant growth from Caxton Façades and Stofix UK. We saw a 24% increase in staff numbers, and 22% growth in turnover. This is down to the hard work and dedication of our team. For 2025, we’re aiming to build on that success by driving substantial growth from Caxton Builders and Stofix UK divisions. Looking ahead, 2026 is set to be a significant year for Caxton Façades, demonstrating the strength of our diversified business model. By balancing the ebb and flow of the industry, we can maintain steady growth across all areas.

What challenges and opportunities do you anticipate in 2025?

One of the key challenges will be diving deeper into business development and risk management. However, I also see exciting opportunities, particularly in the brick slip market. We’ve had promising discussions with new clients, and I’m looking forward to capitalising on these to drive further growth.

What are your main goals for the next 6–12 months?

Our number one goal is to continue to deliver projects on time and within budget, providing our clients with industry-leading service. Whilst we are looking to expand, we will not compromise on our service levels. Our team is growing and we have a highly experienced senior leadership team in place to really drive the business forward.

How does the Group’s diverse portfolio help the business grow?

Our ability to diversify across different sectors is a real strength. While some parts of the industry may be slow at times, having multiple divisions allows us to offset those fluctuations. This balance ensures the Group stays strong and adaptable, with consistent growth across the board”.

Chris Bellamy, Group Managing Director, congratulates Dan on his promotion: “Dan’s promotion to Group Commercial Director is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and the significant impact he has made within the business. His leadership and commercial insight have been invaluable in driving our continued growth and success. I have no doubt that in his new role, Dan will further strengthen our commercial strategy and help shape the future of Caxton Group and Stofix UK. Congratulations, Dan—well deserved!”
