Caxton is a growing company, so there is definitely opportunity for development. I would also say the management team us very flexible, and everyone is friendly and welcoming.
How would you describe the career progression / opportunities within the business?
The training and development are brilliant. I started in a part time general administration/accounts role 11 years ago when only Caxton Builders existed. As we grew and the additional businesses were established, we employed more staff, and I became office manager at Stoke. I have since been promoted to general manager of the Group.
The opportunities within the Group are excellent. Caxton keep a log of everyone’s training skills and pay for any refresher courses required. They also help many people gain qualifications and grow within the business. We also have an apprenticeship scheme which ensures we take on apprentices each year to join the trade and gives them a starter pack with the essentials they need to work with.

There is a huge amount of support for training and development at Caxton. I have competed numerous courses during the last ten years. Initially I completed a computerised accounts course which was funded by Caxton, I then went on to complete NVQ in business administration and more recently I have completed a two year course qualifying with two level 4 diplomas in leadership and management. I have also completed several other courses to benefit the business including mental health first aid, GDPR and data protection.

Great, staff are acknowledged and rewarded for hard work and dedication. We also receive a performance related bonus based on salary. We have a death in service policy, employee assistance programme extra holiday after 5 years’ service.
