Celebrating Success: Elizabeth Allingham Named Caxton Builders Employee of the Quarter
Caxton Builders is delighted to announce that Lizzy Allingham, Trainee Estimator, has been named Employee of the Quarter for Spring 2026.
Lizzy’s journey with Caxton Group is a fantastic example of how hard work and commitment can create exciting career opportunities across our Group.
Lizzy began her career as an apprentice bricklayer through Caxton Academy, where she quickly established herself as a hardworking and talented individual with a genuine passion for the construction industry. Her commitment and achievements were recognised nationally when she was awarded Apprentice of the Year at the Association of Brickwork Contractors Awards, a significant accolade that highlighted her potential and bright future.

As her career progressed and Lizzy gained her qualifications in bricklaying, she began exploring different pathways within the business and identified an opportunity to broaden her knowledge by moving into the Pre-Construction team as a Trainee Estimator. With the support of Caxton Builders, she embraced the challenge and embarked on a new career path.
Just three months into her training, Lizzy has become a valued and highly effective member of the estimating team. She is now confidently undertaking stand-alone take-offs, pricing Bills of Quantities, attending tender review meetings and independently contributing to key estimating activities. Her practical site experience, combined with her enthusiasm to learn, has enabled her to make a remarkable transition.

She has quickly developed the confidence and technical understanding required to contribute meaningfully to live projects, and her practical knowledge from site brings a valuable perspective to the team. We are incredibly proud of what she has achieved so far and excited to see her continue to grow within the business.”
Ian Knight, Managing Director of Caxton Builders, added:
“Lizzy’s journey perfectly demonstrates what can be achieved when talent, commitment and opportunity come together. We are committed to investing in our people and creating clear pathways for progression, and Lizzy is a fantastic example of the success that approach can deliver.”
Lizzy added, “I can’t thank Natalia and Ian enough for all the support and mentorship they’ve given me. I’ve enjoyed every second of my role as trainee estimator and I can’t wait to continue the journey.”
Lizzy’s story highlights the strength of the development opportunities available across Caxton Group and demonstrates how investing in people can unlock potential. Lizzy’s journey is a testament to determination, adaptability and continuous growth.
Congratulations, Lizzy, on this well-deserved recognition.
