New Contract Award: Glasswater Locks, Birmingham

Exciting news for Caxton Builders, we’re thrilled to announce a new contract award for the masonry package of Glasswater Locks, a residential and commercial development in Birmingham city centre. Valued at £2.8 million, the project commenced in January 2024 and is set to span 69 weeks with an estimated completion date of April 2025.

A partnership to be proud of

Our partnership with St. Joseph Homes, part of the prestigious Berkeley Group, is one we’re extremely proud of. We’re thrilled to join them on their quest of delivering a high standard of residential living for the city of Birmingham and beyond, to the wider Midlands.

Modern living – a new vision 

Glasswater Locks, situated in the bustling Learning Quarter of Birmingham, is a canalside development set to redefine residential living standards in the region. The development is close to the city centre and the upcoming HS2 Curzon Street railway station. 

The project comprises 716 contemporary one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes spread across seven wharf blocks. In addition, the development includes 20,000 square feet of commercial space, adding to the dynamic nature of Birmingham city centre.

Birmingham’s growth story

Residents of Glasswater Locks can look forward to an array of top-tier facilities, including ‘The Canal-Side Club’ with a 24-hour concierge, business lounge, games room, cinema, and gym. This landmark development aligns with the city’s growth trajectory, coinciding with the establishment of major offices by HSBC, Goldman Sachs, and the recent entry of Deliveroo.
